prison can be described as life behind bars. Not if you’re in Pelican Bay State however, where prisoners are given a tiny hole in their cells to view the outside world. when the inmates aren’t catching up on their beauty sleep in solitary confinement, they’re allowed the luxury of a whole hour locked in the exercise yard. twenty foot high concrete walls and bar surround this outside area, offering prisoners a bar-filled view of the sky. some occupants of this hard-line jail are so incensed by the conditions they’ve gone on hunger strike to protest.
